Guillaume MARTINEZ, 35 years old

Fishing guide graduated from a BPJEPS recreational fishing and the UCC fishing in a maritime environment allowing me to practice my activity in fresh water as well as at sea.

​

I discovered fishing while growing up in this wonderful environment of Guadeloupe archipelago. Today, I continue to explore the coastline on foot and aboard my boat to practice what is above all my passion.

 

Besides Guadeloupe, I acquired a great expertise in fishing techniques in metropolitan France during my studies and the years I worked there. This valuable knowledge allows me to better understand fishing in Guadeloupe where I have been fishing for more than 15 years. I very well know my territory, its fauna, flora and culture as well. I am on the water or at the water's edge almost every day either to guide people in the context of my professional activity t or for my personal pleasure and the search for new spots. Indeed, fishing is above all a passion since I was a child. It has taught me to push back my limits, to believe in my intuitions, to observe, listen, feel and I derive a certain philosophy of life from it.

 

I organize fishing courses from the shore and in boats, mainly with lures and flies, always in a sporting spirit and respectful of our environment in a strategy of “catch and release”. The catches are photographed quickly, handled with care and then released in the best conditions. I have a great pleasure in presenting and sharing my passion with the general public as well as with specialists because fishing is also a story of sharing. The topics of conversation are therefore various with the visitors .

I speak French, Creole and English fluently and some Spanish.
